Family Based Petitions

Family Based Petitions

Green card holders and US citizens can file a petition for certain family members to live lawfully in the United States. This opportunity is available to qualifying family members living both inside and outside of the U.S.

Ellison Law, P.C., understands the importance of reuniting families and ensuring that they can remain together. These cases can be highly complicated, especially those cases that require certain types of waivers or consular processing. If these cases are submitted incorrectly or incomplete, the petition could be delayed, rejected, or denied.

Ms. Ellison is very detail oriented and understand the importance of cases being submitted correctly. Prior to opening her law firm, Ms. Ellison supervised these types of cases in a large immigration law firm. She thoroughly reviews applications and submissions to ensure that they are correct, complete and supported by evidence.

Types of Cases:

  • Petition for Alien Relative
  • Provisional Waivers
  • Consular Processing

Humanitarian Applications

Humanitarian Applications

We advocate zealously for people to access humanitarian protection. These clients need assistance because of disasters, emergency medical issues, parental neglect and/or abuse, and other emergency situations. The U.S. Government offers these protections, which can be granted by an order of a Federal Immigration Judge or through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).

Many of these people experienced significant hardship, persecution and/or trauma. These cases must be supported by strong evidence. Most importantly, Ms. Ellison approaches these cases on a cases-by-case basis, ensuring that each case is prepared in a very personalized manner, based on the client’s specific circumstances.

Types of Cases:

  • Asylum and Withholding of Removal
  • SIJ – Special Immigrant Juvenile Status
  • TPS – Temporary Protected Status
  • T-Visa for Victims of Human Trafficking
  • U-Visa for Victims of Certain Crimes
  • VAWA Petition for Battered Spouses, Children, or Parents
  • NACARA – Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act
